Beware of Rogue Traders !!
According to the Office of Fair Trading, around 100,000 complaints were received about poor home improvement work last year. In the paving industry there are rogue traders that give others a bad name with poor workmanship, uncompleted installations, extra charges and loss of deposits. We have all heard the horror stories about the problems (as seen on BBC Watchdog, Rogue Traders, House of Horrors and Which Magazine etc). Often there are accidents due to the poor craftmanship by Rogue Paving Companies. A lot of the work is being reported to be either ineffective, unnecessary or both.
Trading Standards officers are advising people not to fall for these cold calling home improvement checks from unknown businesses. As most installations run into thousands of pounds, total care should be taken while appointing a company to carry out a project of this nature. Do not deal with people who knock on your door offering to do home improvement work.
At Marshall K Paving we would like to give you reassurance and peace of mind and this is why we are members of Brett Approved Installer Scheme and Interlay, a network of installers whose workmanship is assessed by Brett and Interlay.
How can I tell if a company is a genuine member of Interlay, Brett or CPA?
